What a Wedding Planner Really Does — And How I Bring Your Wedding Vision to Life in the South of France

Planning a wedding should feel magical. Exciting. Joyful. Full of anticipation.
But for many couples — especially those planning a destination wedding — it can quickly become overwhelming. Logistics, suppliers, timelines, budgets, language barriers, endless decisions… it’s a lot.

And that’s where I come in.
I’m Rebecca, the planner behind RebeccaB Events, creating beautifully curated weddings across Provence, the Côte d’Azur and the Riviera. My role goes far beyond organising; it’s about guiding, shaping, protecting, and elevating your entire experience.

So, what does a wedding planner actually do?
Here is exactly how I support my couples — and what working with me truly looks like.

1. I take your vision and give it structure, style, and direction

Maybe you already have a clear idea.
Maybe you’re starting with a mood, a colour, or a feeling.

Maybe it’s the location, the sentimental side of getting married or the venue which leads your direction.

Maybe it’s the warm weather, the French food and atmosphere that have sparked your imagination.

My job is to take that idea, spark and feeling and turn it into something real, grounded, and beautifully coherent. Together, we explore your preferences and ideas  — elegant Mediterranean aesthetics, Provençal charm, modern minimalism, romantic candlelit dinners — and I translate these into:

    • mood boards showing colour palettes, floral concepts and tablescaping ideas

    • layout plans

    • timelines

    • guest-flow

    • atmospheric lighting and décor

Everything becomes intentional and cohesive — nothing left to chance.

2. I connect you with the right local suppliers (and protect you from the wrong ones)

Working in the South of France means having a trusted network — something you simply cannot Google. I introduce you to suppliers who fit your style, budget, and personality:

    • venues

    • caterers

    • florists

    • lighting and sound

    • tent and furniture rentals

    • photographers and videographers

    • DJs and musicians

    • cake designers

    • transport

    • hostesses and staff

    • décor and styling specialists

I know who is reliable, who communicates well, who is worth the investment.
Your budget is respected, your stress is reduced, and your expectations are exceeded.

3. I handle every detail, every email, every phone call, every “what if?”

Behind every seamless wedding is months of invisible work.

I manage:

    • quotes and comparisons

    • contracts

    • payments and due dates

    • supplier coordination

    • logistics planning

    • layout drawings

    • delivery and pickup schedules

    • rental lists

    • technical requirements

    • venue rules and restrictions

    • noise, power, parking and access

    • rain plans (always!)

You don’t need to chase anyone.
You don’t need to remind anyone.
You don’t need to worry if something’s missing.

I’ve already checked it — twice.

4. I create the full master timeline so everyone works in harmony

A wedding is a choreography.
My master timeline ensures everything is perfectly timed — and everyone knows exactly where they need to be.

From makeup to ceremony cues, music changes, dinner service, speeches, dance floor opening and supplier breakdown, your day flows effortlessly.

This timeline is shared with:

    • caterers

    • musicians

    • technical teams

    • photographers and videographers

    • venue managers

    • drivers

    • staff

Everyone is aligned, informed, and coordinated.

5. I’m your advocate — your calm in every storm

Wedding planning can be emotional. Suppliers can be slow to respond, families can have opinions, ideas can shift. My role includes:

    • keeping you grounded

    • guiding you toward better solutions

    • protecting your budget

    • offering alternatives when needed

    • keeping communication smooth and positive

    • solving issues before you even know they existed

I’m the person in your corner — always.

6. I manage the entire wedding day so you can simply experience it

On the day, I am everywhere — quietly ensuring everything is perfect:

    • supervising setup

    • styling tables and décor

    • checking technical details

    • managing suppliers

    • cueing music and ceremony timing

    • guiding guests

    • coordinating staff

    • troubleshooting discreetly

    • keeping the flow smooth

    • ensuring service stays on schedule

    • adjusting for weather or last-minute changes

    • protecting your moments of peace

You won’t see the work — just the results.
You get to be present, emotional, joyful, and surrounded by the people you love.

7. I bring experience, intuition, and local knowledge

With years in the industry — from luxury events, corporate activations, and destination weddings — I know the region, its venues, its suppliers, its hidden rules, and its rhythms.

Whether it’s:

    • navigating local bureaucracy

    • understanding parking restrictions

    • knowing which roads close during tourist season

    • planning around heat, wind, rain or sunsets

    • or managing logistics on small mountain roads

I anticipate everything so nothing surprises us.

But most importantly: I make the journey enjoyable.

Your engagement shouldn’t be spent in stress.
You should enjoy the tastings, the design process, the celebrations, and the excitement.

My role is to take away the pressure and make planning effortless, organised, creative, and fun.

If you’re planning a wedding in Provence or the Côte d’Azur, I’d love to help you bring it to life.

Whether you need full planning, styling, logistics, or day-of coordination, I’d be delighted to guide you through every step.
